Financial reporting training is crucial for rural community organizations, and it promotes project success and organizational growth. All USADF/G0U grantees are currently supervised by Uganda Development Trust and undergo mandatory financial reporting training. This way, grantees are equipped with the skills required to account for funds, document financial transactions, establish and update adequate books of accounts and ledgers, and generate accurate and timely financial statements and reports. This also prepares grantees for grant, statutory, and compliance audits from various regulatory and donor agencies, including the Government of Uganda (GoU).
Grantees supervised by UDET do stand out in their respective rural communities despite the relatively high levels of financial illiteracy because of various historical and current factors affecting our education system. This has enabled the majority of our grantees to access additional funding from other donors and financial institutions.
