USADF funded Namubuka ACE in August 2019 with UGX 895 million for the collective processing and marketing of maize. With the support, they built a store and a maize mill and bought two mobile maize threshers, a truck, inputs, and farmer training, improving the quality and quantity of maize. Farmers’ production increased from eight bags to an average of 25 bags per acre per season. With increased incomes, nutrition improved; farmers bought land, boda-bodas, opened eating places, and other businesses.
